Lunch & Learn: Municipal Assessments vs. Sales Data

Karl Green from UW-Extension will make a presentation that attempts to illustrate what occurs in the property tax system as a municipality’s average assessment ratio drops, by comparing a municipality’s annual "arm’s length" sales data with the property’s representative data. The inequities that can occur in the municipality assessing system are the rationale for the WI Dept. of Revenue’s advocacy in changing the assessing process to county-wide throughout WI.
