Special Opportunity - We were contacted by Katie Aspenson, City of Onalaska Planner/Zoning Inspector, and she would like feedback and opinions from YOU about re-writing the Unified Development Code for the City of Onalaska. The purpose is to ensure the City's codes meet Wisconsin State Statutes; make the UDC easier to understand and use; implement the 2016 Comprehensive Plan; and modernize standards to achieve high quality, context-sensitive projects.
Main purpose of the meeting will be to gather input from YOU about what's working and not working with the City's current development process. Anticipated areas of discussion include what new development and redevelopment you like or feel should have been regulated differently; what parts of the City's current development codes are challenging to understand or use; where is there a disconnect between current building practices and the City's development codes; and what opportunities might there be to simpligy development processes.
